Medical Research

In recent years, government agencies, SLI-affiliated neurosurgeons in collaboration with several leading medical institutions and publications, and other researchers have studied recurrent concussions and traumatic brain injury and their relation to depression, cognitive impairment, and lasting brain damage.  As the results of additional studies become evident, SLI will make them available through this web site.  Our goal is to develop a series of best practices that protect athletes, make games safer, and prevent serious injuries.
